Rooted in Purpose
A reflection of the person, the values, and the work behind IGNIX.
The Person Behind IGNIX
I am a Deaf, Latine, and queer interpreter, trainer, and consultant whose work is shaped by lived experience, community accountability, and a deep commitment to doing this work with intention. I move through professional spaces carrying both personal and collective histories, and I do not separate who I am from how I work.
Growing up Deaf in systems that were not built with my family or community in mind shaped how I understand access, power, and responsibility. Those experiences continue to inform how I show up in interpreting, training, mentoring, and leadership spaces. I value clarity, honesty, and growth, even when the conversations are uncomfortable or long overdue.
IGNIX is grounded in these beliefs. This space reflects how I work, how I think, and how I choose to contribute to the field and the communities connected to it.

IGNIX’s WHY
IGNIX exists to disrupt the ordinary.
It was founded to create bold, intentional spaces that have been missing for far too long. Spaces where complex work can be slowed down, examined honestly, and engaged without polishing away its impact.
IGNIX was built to shake the ground a little and make room for truth, creativity, and conversations that often go untouched. This work refuses surface-level engagement and is guided by honesty over comfort, accountability over performance, and care for the people carrying the weight.
IGNIX is moving toward a future where complexity is not avoided, language access is essential, and people are supported to do meaningful work without disconnecting from their humanity.
My Personal WHY

My Backbone
My abuela taught me how to stand firm, how to move with pride, and how to keep going when systems fail the people you love. Her strength is quiet but unbreakable, and it continues to shape how I move through the world.

My Roots
My familia. I grew up watching medical, legal, and educational systems fail my family members again and again. As a Deaf person, I saw it all firsthand. I understood the gaps, the power imbalances, and the consequences long before I entered this field professionally. Those experiences shaped how I understand access, responsibility, and the real impact of language.

My Water
My wife. She sustains me in the everyday moments that make this work possible. She grounds me, pushes me forward, and keeps me steady when the weight of the work would otherwise take over. She is what keeps the work flowing without washing me away.
My community is my branches.
They hold connection, accountability, and reach. They are where the work stretches outward and becomes collective. They remind me that this work is never done alone.
Everything else grows from there.
The leaves are the work itself.
The learning, the questions, the moments that shape us.
The fruit is what we leave behind.
Access. Clarity. Tools. Better systems than the ones we inherited.
IGNIX was built from this foundation.
From lineage.
From lived experience.
From the choice to honor what I saw and to build something that holds it with care.
Purpose. Mission. Values. Vision.
IGNIX exists because important work is happening without space to tell the truth about it. The work is complex, shaped by power, and carried by people who are rarely given room to slow down, reflect, or name its impact. IGNIX was built to hold that space and to create and sustain intentional work through workshops, presentations, interpreting, translation, consulting, and mentoring that refuses surface-level engagement.
This work is guided by honesty over polish, accountability over comfort, and lived experience over performance. It is held with care because the impact is real and the weight is real. Growth here is collective, and no one is expected to carry it alone.
IGNIX is moving toward a future where complexity is not avoided, language access is treated as essential, and people are supported to do meaningful work without disconnecting from their humanity.
